Country Life Organic Chia Seeds 300 g

The Hispanic sage is a one metre tall herb native to the mountainous regions of Central America. Chia seeds were eaten by the ancient Mayans and Aztecs more than five thousand years ago. The Aztecs are said to have even used them as currency.

Mixing them with liquid produces a chia gel that you can use in puddings, jams, smoothies and porridges. Chia can also be used in baking bread, biscuits and muffins. They have a slightly nutty taste.

Basic preparation: chia seeds can hold about ten times their volume of liquid within 20 minutes, you can use not only water as liquid, but also fruit juice, juice, vegetable drink or animal milk

Store at temperatures up to 25°C and relative humidity up to 70%.
