The caraway filling contains natural essential oil from Czech caraway and is sealed in an airtight container (caraway bag). The cumin essential oil is specially treated to last for several months. The cumin filling is placed between the potatoes in the Zembag and will last for at least 5 months under normal conditions. In an unopened container it will last 24 months. If you notice signs of sprouting, you need to add a new cumin filling between the potatoes.
